Mark Baigent Noctivaga Spring/Summer 2027 Preview
Mark Baigent about their SS27 collection:
"In this collection for spring/summer 2027, I reimagine historic silhouettes through a contemporary lens, drawing inspiration from the Victorian nightlife of the era rather than its daylight formalities. Layers of sheer tulle and silk organza are embroidered with delicate beading that catches and reflects even the faintest light. The quiet shimmer of the night. Pigment-dyed greys, deep blacks, and muted charcoal tones recreate the hazy, softened vision that darkness brings. At the same time, structured tailoring meets flowing, transparent silhouettes, and thick plastisol stripes are applied by hand, showing beauty in irregularity.
Natural fibres including silk, cotton, linen, rayon blends, and textured tweeds are paired with ornate jacquard fabrics, symbolising fragility as strength. Returning as a staple of the collection, zero-waste garments continue my commitment to reducing textile waste without compromising design.
The bespoke NOCTIVAGA print reinterprets the opulence of Victorian damask. Hidden within its intricate pattern are the obscured faces of the night wanderers, watched over by a thistle, a symbol of resilience and protection that stands guard for us. Like the people who inspired this collection, these figures are concealed, but never absent, waiting to be discovered. And we must celebrate and protect them."
We are excited to show the collection at Curate IC in New York from September 9 - 11, at 541 W 25th St.
