Clothing Like Armor - Stylecrone in Trine Kryger Simonsen FW20

Back in February, during FW20 fashion week in New York, we had an amazing time producing this photoshoot with our gorgeous model and fashionista Judith Boyd - also known as Stylecrone. Only a few months have gone by since then, yet it feels like a different lifetime - well, our lives have indeed changed quite a bit since then... We look back fondly on these times of inspiration, creation, and human connection.
“Fashion sighs after trends. I want timeless elegance. Fashion has no time. I do. I say: Hello Lady, how can I help you? Fashion has no time to even ask such a question, because it is constantly concerned with finding out what will come next. It is more about helping women to suffer less, to attain more freedom and independence.” - Yohji Yamamoto

Our photographer, Philip Vukelich, created a wonderful atmosphere in this shoot: moody, focussed, guiding Judith throughout the shoot into expressive poses. Don’t these photos give the clothes a feeling of armor? A sentiment that just seems all the more familiar currently, in which we all are trying to shield our selves and our loved ones as much as possible.

Judith is wearing Trine Kryger Simonsen FW20, which will be available in selected US boutiques in just a few months (please see a selection of the boutiques that will carry the FW20 line below). We at JP Reps are honored to introduce the Scandinavian fashion brand TKS to the US market. Art and attitude melt together to create pieces of simplistic elegance, using exclusive and unique fabrics - expressing a modern, cosmopolitan look with an avant-garde touch. A minimal aesthetic emerges and forms sophisticated garments with a  cool, yet refined attitude for the modern, independent woman. Inspired by the Northern hemisphere and designed in Denmark, Trine Kryger Simonsen stands for long-lasting and sustainable fashion of the highest quality.

About Judith Boyd, also known as Stylecrone:
“Let’s take back the word crone, to its original meaning, signifying a woman of a “certain age’ who embodies all her life’s wisdom, knowledge, experience, and love. My name is Judith, I’m 76 years old (…). I am always inspired by diversity and individual expression and find inspiration everywhere! I spent most of my career working as a psychiatric nurse in an emergency setting. (…) Choosing my outfits, which always included a hat, was a way to express myself creatively and as a form of meditation as I approached my day, which usually included extreme and painful stories told by interesting, traumatized people.  Because of my love for style and headwear, I co-owned a hat shop in the 80’s and sold vintage clothing in the 90’s and beyond. Currently I enjoy creating ensembles from my collections of hats and vintage, primarily discovered at estate sales, thrift stores and consignment shops.
My beloved husband of 32 years was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2005, and he transitioned on April 20th, 2011 after many years of intrusive and difficult treatments.  As I grieve the loss of Nelson’s inspirational spirit and negotiate life’s journey without him, I find a powerful form of art and expression in my daily conceptualizing and personal presentation of my own form of body art (…).”
